For some of us getting back into the school routine brings some challenges in the lunchbox and snack departments. Smart after school snacks can be a life-saver when kids come home tired and hungry from school and kindergarten. It is often the time when I most hear about the phrase, “I’m hungry” repeated one too many times.

Sometimes I get myself organised and have something planned in advance, but usually I am making something for them on the fly. My boys would be happy to eat weetbix all the time if they could, so I like to have some alternatives that are easy and quick to rustle up. So I thought I would start a list of the snacks that my kids like.

Some of these snack ideas can be given to babies and used in the lunchbox.
