In this post we introduce you to the colour version of the Munch seasonal cookbook which is a very exciting development for us here at Munch. You can grab a copy of this over the Cupboard.
Having spent the last few months converting the black and white version of the Munch Cookbook to a full colour version (which in hindsight we should have done at the outset, as the black and white never did the images justice) we are basically there. Although we were very bound by our arrangement with I Universe, as to the layout and options of printing. I suppose if I had gone to a traditional publishing house we would have had more flexibility but for some reason I wanted to do the whole process myself! So the learning curve has been rather extensive.
Rennee Feith, my gorgeous and talented friend and graphic designer, has added new images to the book along with a number of full page images with relevant quotes. Read more about Renee over on our Munch Mums page.
So what has changed with the Colour version of the Munch seasonal cookbook
We have also rectified some typos that were missed in the black and white version. I do wonder whether we will every get it perfect! When do you say when?!
As you know the black and white version of the Cookbook was published in America but we have found a printing company here in little ‘ole’ Wellington who can print our book in colour at a very good rate. At the outset we wanted to ensure our book was affordable so we wanted to keep it under $30. ( Maybe at a later date we will do a coffee table cookbook) So who would have thought that we could get it printed in colour and in NZ at the best rate. Go NZ! The printing company we used was Printing.com and they are great. I found out about this company through an old MBA colleague who works there, so maybe it is sometimes who you know.
When I was looking through some of my old posts on the whole book publishing saga, I read one that said that ‘not so sure I would do another’, well that is not the case as Michelle and I have another one in the pipeline. But let’s hope it does not take 4 years!
We hope you enjoy reading colour version of the Munch seasonal cookbook. You can grab a copy of this over the Cupboard.
