Some time ago Munch was invited to take a couple of cooking workshops at the Go Green Expo 2013. We jumped in boots and all and had our very first trade stand too. The Munch Cupboard stand at the Go Green Expo was a real success.
Not heard about the Go Green Expo before? Check out the details here. Basically, it showcases fantastic green ideas and businesses.
The Go Green Expo has been created to take the sweat out of your steps and provide you with a ‘one stop shop’ on what is available, where you can find them, why they are better and who are the genuine players.
The Munch Cupboard stand at the Go Green Expo was a real success. It was the very first time that we had a stand. We have been busy getting banners, eftpos machines, giveaways, props etc, all the things you do not need when you are solely on line! Wow we did well to get this all up and running in time. It really was a lot of work, but sooo worth it. It looked really awesome!
Anna’s cooking presentation was very successful. She loved seeing all her followers and more.
The stall looked amazing, Anna did a great job getting it all sorted before the big day.
People loved the complimentary Oskar’s muesli bar balls we were giving away too. So we decided to share the recipe below.
We made some new friends and definitely had some fun.
Where does Munch stand on the green issues? Well let us tell you:
Ideally a world without plastic
Our Cupboard attempts to stock non plastic alternative items. Where this is not possible our Cupboard ensures the plastic is BHP free.
Minimal processing of food
We attempt to create recipes that have minimal processed ingredients.
Better labelling of food
We write posts and help associated organisations to promote better labelling
Irradiation or limit the availability of certain foods for our munchkins
We have created the Munch Awards to raise awareness in this area.
More fruit trees in schools
We have worked with some community groups to help facilitate this.
“When you cease to make a contribution, you begin to die”.
Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962) U.S. First Lady, Diplomat, Human Rights Activist
“Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have”.
Margaret Mead (1902-1978) Cultural Anthropologist
Here are some of the pictures from the event.
We hope you enjoyed reading about Munch at the go green expo.
