This great Baby puree salmon recipe is by our Munch Mum Kate Day from Freddies Food. For our new readers, Kate has been writing about her food ventures with Freddie and now her baby Lottie for the last couple of years and we have been lucky enough to have her on board with us since we started.

So enjoy this new Baby puree salmon recipe for a 7 month plus baby.  Do also have a read of one of our posts about Starting solids (stage 2) 7 months onwards.

By the way this fabulous image is from Annebel Karmel site a UK cook who also has some great kids recipes.  You can check out her recipe with salmon through this link.

Freddie is a big fan of salmon so Lottie was introduced to it at an early stage. It is great brain food so hopefully your baby will enjoy it too! You could season you salmon with a thin crust of cumin and some fresh lemon juice once they have accepted the initial taste of the salmon.

Baby puree salmon - 7 month plus baby
  • 50g salmon
  • ¼ medium carrot
  • 1 tbsp peas
  • 2 tbsp rice
  1. Put the rice onto boil.
  2. Bake a salmon fillet in the oven at 180′C for around 15 minutes, you want the salmon cooked through rather than opaque in the middle.
  3. Meanwhile cook the vegetables.
  4. Mash the carrots with a fork, flake the salmon and stir through the vegetables along with the rice and peas.
By the way,  if you want a fun day out with the kids.   A couple of years ago we went to a great salmon farm with our big kids up in Golden Bay.  It was just fantastic and you are absolutely guarenteed to catch a salmon.  They also have all the smoking facilities there as well such as Manuka, yum!  Hope to get down to Anatoki salmon farm when Baby Ed a little bigger.  I know I have side tracked a little but at least this paragraph still has something to do with salmon!
