My first tastes of Pic’s Peanut Butter were spooned directly from jar to mouth. Fortunately the kids did not see this. I found it deliciously peanutty and creamy in consistency. It was really fantastic. In my opinion, Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter is just that. The back of the jar makes joyous reading too. All it contains is peanuts and a little bit of salt.
I loved reading the backstory to Pic’s peanut butter affair and how he came to start making Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butters.
Pic’s the one who started this business and he is clearly nuts about peanut butter.
Pic was inspired to make his own peanut butter because he could see where peanut butter manufacturers were heading. He was sure that one day they would be loading our peanut butters with sugar. “‘Mark my words’ I said to anyone who would listen: ‘The day will come when peanut butter will be loaded with sugar.”
Pic tell us that he discovered sugar in his favourite peanut butter back in 2007. He tried to switch brands, but found that soon they were all at it. Apparently, he even phoned Pam’s 0800 number only to be told that their market surveys showed customers preferred it that way!
He was also concerned that almost all the peanut butter in our supermarkets were being made in China, and that they were not only adding sugar, but they were chucking emulsifiers, antioxidants and litres of unspecified hydrogenated oils in there as well. So he decided to create his Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter to counteract this problem. And so Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter was created.
It is really easy to make your own nut butter but with awesome products like Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter around you really don’t need to. Their product is awesome and seriously yummy.
