Did I mention that I really like breakfast? One of my go to breakfasts is a smoothie. This Weet-Bix Wakeup wondershake is a Weet-Bix based breakfast smoothie that is great for all the family. Last week we published a great Weet-Bix Granola recipe. This smoothie is another great recipe from the Weet-Bix Better Breakfast Programme, spearheaded by my favourite Celebrity chef (and author of The Food Truck Cookbooks) Michael Van der Elzen.

Weet-Bix based breakfast smoothie – the Weet-Bix Wakeup Shake

Smoothies are a quick and easy way to start the day and there are a few simple tricks to keep the sugar content low and add some protein. Leftover smoothies can be frozen in our Munch Ice Pops.

The Weet-Bix Wakeup Shake is a great way to get some extra good cereal into your tummy. It is sweetened naturally with dates and banana so does not need any added refined sugar. This smoothie is also great for mums too.

I often use almond milk in my smoothies, almond milk has less calories than cows milk and has good protein content.

Smoothies can be a good place to sneak in some extra vegetables too. Did you know that you can sneak in cooked broccoli or raw spinach into your smoothie? A great way to use up leftovers. A Weet-Bix smoothie is a great way to use up any leftover Weet-Bix too… not that that happens very often.

Weet-Bix Wake-Up Wonder Shake
Prep time

A simple easy to whip Weet-Bix shake that is sure to get you powered for the day.
Serves: 2 cups
  • 2 Weet-Bix wheat biscuits
  • 300ml Almond Milk
  • 1 banana
  • 4 dates
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  1. Place the Weet-Bix into a blender with the Almond Milk and let soak for a minute to soften.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
